D.R. on Varney & Co.: All You Need is Dove…
In the world of finance, a dove is someone who promotes monetary policies that involve low interest rates. Doves prefer low interest rates as a vehicle to encourage consumer borrowing, and thus increase consumer spending. Any dovish sentiments, especially from The Federal Reserve – who are in charge of determining interest rates – can send the markets hurtling skyward.
In today’s appearance on Varney & Co., I discussed the positive impact the dovish remarks from Fed chief Jerome Powell had on the market. Powell stated that the Fed will remain flexible and is in no rush to raise interest rates again. Also on tap was a discussion on several big name tech stocks, their current status, and their outlook going forward.
